Shaun Leveton founder and shareholder of PetSure, Australia’s largest pet insurer and part of the Hollard Group, has announced the appointment of Alexandra (Alex) Thomas as CEO of PetSure (Australia) with effect from October 2013.
Thomas previously worked in various senior roles at Optus Business. Her last role was Vice President, Managed Services and Delivery. Prior to this role she worked in Optus transformation in the position of Director, Customer Experience. Thomas is also a Non-Executive Director at Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman’s Office.
Leveton said the appointment was a logical next step for the business.

As part of its evolution PetSure has formed an experienced and professional Board incorporating independent Directors to provide guidance and direction to management.
Bruce Levy, the former CEO of Medibank’s health insurance business, has been appointed as PetSure’s first of our independent Directors.
Shaun Leveton will take up the position as Chairman of PetSure’s newly configured Board of Directors and will continue to play to his strengths by focussing on the external positioning of PetSure and developing new opportunities for the business both domestically and abroad.
PetSure addresses a variety of needs in the pet health insurance industry through value-based insurance products for pet owners and veterinarians. PetSure has been a Hollard Insurance Partner internationally since 1991 and in Australia since 2000.
