Canfield is well known for mentoring Australian veterinarians in the field of wildlife health, and continues to do so.<!--more--><\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Also from Sydney University, William (Bill) Porges was recognised for services to tertiary education and veterinary science. Porges\u2019 long association with St Andrew\u2019s College was acknowledged.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Victorian veterinarian Barbara Wellington received the medal (OAM) for significant service to veterinary science, to professional associations, to animal welfare, and to the community. Wellington was Chief Veterinarian for the RSPCA from 1985-98 and again 1999-2002.
