{"id":2101,"date":"2016-10-20T23:27:48","date_gmt":"2016-10-20T13:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theveterinarian.com.au\/?p=2101"},"modified":"2016-10-31T23:29:18","modified_gmt":"2016-10-31T13:29:18","slug":"veterinary-business-groups-to-merge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theveterinarian.com.au\/?p=2101","title":{"rendered":"Veterinary business groups to merge"},"content":{"rendered":"The Australian Veterinary Association has announced that its practice management special interest group, AVAPM, will be joining forces with the Australian Veterinary Business Association (AVBA) from 1 January 2017.\r\n\r\nAmalgamation will create the Veterinary Business Group, a new body which will become part of the AVA, and will provide support to veterinary practice managers.\r\n\r\n\u201cThis move is an exciting opportunity to innovate, to develop leadership skills in veterinary businesses, and to foster a strong, successful veterinary services industry well into the future,\u201d AVAPM President James Ramsden said.\r\n\r\n\u201cBoth groups have been offering similar services such as conferences, workshops, webinars and online resources that are designed to help create successful veterinary businesses and successful veterinary leaders,\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cBy joining forces, we\u2019ll be able to reduce duplication, offer better value for money, and speak with a stronger and more influential voice through a larger, single membership base,\u201d he said.\r\n\r\nMembers of both organisations will become members of the Veterinary Business Group as of\u00a0January 1, 2017.\r\n\r\nMembership will be open to veterinarians and non-veterinarians working within veterinary businesses.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Australian Veterinary Association has announced that its practice management special interest group, AVAPM, will be joining forces with the Australian Veterinary Business Association (AVBA) from 1 January 2017.
