Russell Crowe has helped save the life of an injured kookaburra in\nQueensland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The academy award winner donated an unknown amount to Australia Zoo to\nfacilitate the purchase of an endoscope required to save the bird which had\nswallowed a fishing hook. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\u2018Archie\u2019 the injured kookaburra came to public attention via a tweet\nfrom Wildlife Warriors, a charity established by Terri Irwin and her late\nhusband Steve Irwin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cArchie the kookaburra had swallowed a fishing hook when he arrived at\nthe Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital,\u201d the tweet said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAn endoscope was used to locate the hook, following which it was safely\nremoved using a protective sleeve\u2026thankfully, Archie recovered and he has\nreturned back to the wild.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Terri Irwin followed-up the tweet from her personal account, revealing\nCrowe\u2019s involvement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThank you @russellcrowe for donating the funds to purchase this\nlife-saving endoscope,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
