VET.CT strengthens climate commitment

News

Global teleradiology provider VET.CT has become one of the first veterinary companies worldwide to have its science-based net-zero targets officially validated, furthering its commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practice.

The milestone follows the company’s 2024 achievement of becoming carbon neutral and reflects its core value of “doing the right thing for animals, people, and the planet.”

As a global provider of diagnostic imaging reporting and education services, VET.CT recognises the intrinsic connection between animal health, public health, and the environment. The company says its climate goals are guided by the need for decisive, science-aligned action to mitigate the effects of climate change.

Validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), VET.CT’s commitments include:

  • Reducing scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by more than 50 per cent within 10 years.
  • Measuring and reducing scope 3 emissions across its supply chain and partnerships.
  • Achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 through a 90 per cent reduction across scopes 1, 2 and 3, prioritising decarbonisation before offsetting unavoidable residual emissions.

All targets are publicly listed on the SBTi Target Dashboard.

David Reese, Managing Director of VET.CT Asia-Pacific, said the company views climate change as both an environmental and a health issue.

“Reaching carbon neutrality in 2024 was a proud milestone for us, but we know we must go further,” he said. “By aligning our goals with climate science, we aim to protect the future health of the planet and the communities and patients we serve.”
