Greencross Clinical Connect 2025 brought veterinary professionals together for collaboration, learning and innovation
More than 1,000 veterinary professionals from across Australia gathered at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, for Greencross Clinical Connect 2025 – a two-day conference celebrating collaboration, clinical excellence, and innovation in animal care.

With more than 75 sessions on offer, the program featured a diverse mix of keynote presentations and panel discussions spanning veterinary medicine, emergency and specialty practice, leadership, wellbeing, and emerging technologies in clinical settings.
Highlights included sessions exploring AI-driven diagnostics, advances in pain management and surgical innovation. Dedicated learning streams for general practice, emergency and specialty veterinarians, and veterinary nurses ensured content was tailored to every career stage.
International guest speakers from the Nestlé Purina Institute, including Jan S. Suchodolski MedVet, DrVetMed, PhD, AGAF, DACVM, and Holger A. Volk DVM, PGCAP, PhD, DipECVN, FHEA, FRCVS, shared new research on the role of nutrition in managing enteropathies and supporting epilepsy care beyond traditional pharmacological approaches.
A standout component of the program was an advanced soft tissue surgery workshop led by specialist Charles Kuntz, offering Veterinary Directors and Associates an intensive combination of theory and hands-on learning. Across several hours of lectures and practical sessions, participants refined their understanding of wound healing and explored advanced surgical techniques, including flank fold flaps, z-plasty, wide local excision, and exploratory laparotomy procedures.

Equally well-received was a session on palliative and end-of-life care, presented by Rosie Overfield and Jackie Campbell, which guided teams through developing compassionate, patient-centred programs to support pets and their families during critical moments of care.
Garrett Lewis, Chief Executive Vet Services at Greencross, said the event reflected the strength and spirit of the organisation’s clinical network.
“It was a fantastic two days of bringing together our specialists, vets, vet nurses, practice managers and clinical directors to share ideas, challenge thinking, and celebrate the passion that drives us all – delivering the best possible care for pets,” he said.
“As someone who is new to Australia and to Greencross, what really stood out is the incredible collaboration, passion and commitment we have across our veterinary community. It’s a reflection of the talent, heart and innovation that defines Greencross.”
Beyond the lecture halls, Clinical Connect 2025 also provided valuable opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange, highlighting the depth and diversity of expertise across Greencross’ network of general practice clinics, specialty hospitals, and emergency centres.

Zoetis returned as the event’s Platinum Plus sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, while Royal Canin joined for the first time as a Platinum Plus partner.
Delegates could tailor their learning through streams dedicated to Wellness, Leadership, Vets (Essentials, Mastery, ECC), and Nurses (Essentials, Advanced, ECC), with sessions designed to inspire clinical excellence, professional development, and personal wellbeing.
As Australia’s largest veterinary group, Greencross continues to invest in its teams, clinics, and technology to advance patient outcomes, support clinical learning, and strengthen workplace culture across its national network.
Planning is already underway for Greencross Clinical Connect 2026, which will be held in Brisbane from 7–8 November 2026, with Early Bird tickets scheduled for release in May 2026.
