Melbourne expansion for Greencross

News

Greencross Vets has opened a purpose-built clinic in inner Melbourne, expanding access to veterinary services in St Kilda and reinforcing the group’s continued investment in community-based animal healthcare.

The new Greencross Vets St Kilda facility has been designed to support modern clinical workflows and patient comfort. The clinic includes three consult rooms, a dedicated operating theatre, diagnostic imaging including x-ray and ultrasound, an in-house laboratory and a full pharmacy. Separate general and isolation wards are incorporated to enhance infection control and patient wellbeing.

The clinic is led by Veterinary Director Maree King, supported by a team of veterinarians and nurses operating within Greencross’ national clinical frameworks and professional development programs.

Garrett Lewis, Chief Executive – Vet Services at Greencross, said the opening responds to growing demand for accessible, high-quality veterinary care in Melbourne’s inner suburbs.

“St Kilda is a vibrant, pet-loving community and we’re proud to expand our footprint with a clinic designed to support both pets and the people who care for them,” Lewis said.

“This investment allows us to deliver high-quality local care while creating new career opportunities for veterinary professionals within a well-resourced clinical network.”

The St Kilda site strengthens Greencross’ presence in inner Melbourne, supporting local veterinary teams and improving service availability for pet owners in the area.

King said the clinic aims to build strong long-term relationships with clients while delivering best-practice care across all life stages.

“Being part of a national network provides access to advanced equipment, shared clinical knowledge and ongoing training, which ultimately benefits both our team and our patients,” she said.

Routine and preventative care is available weekdays, with after-hours emergency services accessible through nearby referral partners including Animal Emergency Centre Moorabbin and Centre for Animal Referral Emergency Veterinary Hospital, both located within a short drive of the clinic.
